What a Real Maintenance Program Looks Like

There’s a difference between a crew that shows up and mows, and a crew that actually knows your garden. Our maintenance clients work with Nancy and the same team on every visit — so the people in your yard know what you planted last season, notice when something isn’t right, and proactively flag things before they become problems.

Our garden maintenance programs run April through November, aligned with Denver’s actual growing season. We don’t charge you through winter for nothing. You choose weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly visits depending on what your yard needs.

We cover everything that keeps a garden healthy and looking good: weeding, pruning, mulching, bed edging, irrigation checks, seasonal planting, and general care. If a bed needs a new perennial to fill a gap, Nancy will recommend something that fits — and that’s right for Denver’s zone 5b conditions. That kind of attentiveness is what our long-term clients value most.

What’s Included Each Visit

Weeding

Hand-weeding of all beds, with attention to invasive species that compete with your plantings. We get the roots, not just the tops. Denver’s clay soil can make this tedious — we handle it so you don’t have to.

Pruning & Deadheading

Keeping plants shaped, removing spent flowers to encourage reblooming, and timing cuts correctly for each plant type. This is where horticultural knowledge matters — the wrong cut at the wrong time can set a plant back significantly.

Bed Edging & Mulching

Sharp edges between beds and lawn make the whole yard look intentional. We refresh mulch as needed throughout the season to retain moisture and suppress weeds — especially important in Denver’s dry summers.

Irrigation Checks

Denver’s clay soil and intense UV can be tough on irrigation systems. We check heads for proper coverage and report any issues we spot. Catching a broken head early saves water and prevents plant loss.

Seasonal Planting Advice

If we notice a gap in a bed, or a plant that didn’t come back from winter, we’ll flag it and suggest something that’ll work in that specific spot. No upselling — just honest recommendations from people who know Denver’s plants.

Spring & Fall Cleanups

Seasonal cleanups are included in maintenance agreements — spring prep in late March/April and fall wind-down in October/November. No extra charge for clients on maintenance programs.

“Sparrow Grow has been enhancing and maintaining my gardens all season long. They’ve never looked better! Nancy’s team always does a great job weeding and fine-tuning the flower beds. Whenever there’s a bare spot, Nancy makes recommendations for adding perennials that perfectly suit my style.”
